Hydromulching & Hydroseeding

How it works

A slurry of seed and mulch — with fertiliser, tackifying agents and a green marker dye — is sprayed uniformly over prepared ground. The mulch layer holds moisture around the seed, producing faster germination than dry broadcasting while protecting the surface from erosion as the grass establishes. Stolonising, using runners instead of seed, is available for turf species that suit it.

Where it fits

Hydromulching is considerably cheaper than laying turf and quicker to strike than conventional seed — the right answer for batters, slopes, large lawns, wildflower and revegetation seeding, and erosion control on civil projects.
